Robin

Robin is a man of many talents - this tractor fixing task had been waiting a few years - well, 13 years to be precise.

Rest Break

A happy and well-earned rest day for work party members at the ranch - Gail, Harold and Robin.

Post Holes

Hmmm - how did I get this job?!

Work Day at the Ranch

We had an excellent work party led by Robin. This is the only ranch in the valley with really good Buddhist prayer flags - one of the many reasons we love it.

Exploring the Backcountry

We decided to go exploring this weekend - we borrowed Harold's old truck and headed for the backcountry to Big Bar on the Fraser river. We had to cross the river on a reaction ferry, which uses the power of the current. This route we took goes from Clinton to Lillooet, about a five hour trip - the roads are in good shape, but are gravel and incredibly steep. We needed the clearance of the truck and four wheel drive in some areas and we needed to lock the hubs when we got stuck on a beach ... good thing we took the truck!

Christmas at the Ranch

We had Christmas at the ranch and joined the Loon Lake locals at the annual Christmas bonfire, held this year at Bucky's Saloon! It was unusually warm and there was no snow!!

The Ranch in Winter 2004/5

The ranch is as cold in the winter as it is hot in the summer!
