Attwell Family Ski Day!

The Attwell family was in action on the ski hills of British Columbia today.  Adam, Erin, Dave, Clare, Diane, Irwin, Maximilian, Rebekah, Benjamin and Peter were on the slopes of Mount Washington and Rob and Cynthia were catskiing in the backcountry in Rossland, BC - what a great day!

Bowen Island

A wonderful Sunday trip over to Bowen Island to hike Mt Gardner guided by our urban hiking guru David Adams.

On the trail we ran into David and Harry Crerar. As it happened we had just had a discussion about David and his challenge to the running community to bag the local peaks:

David congratulated us on bagging our first peak. He's up to 22 of 32 local peaks meeting the challenge criteria in a bit more than two months.

Liliana and Andrea

We had a wonderful visit with our wonderful friend Liliana and her daughter Andrea from Mexico City. Andrea is attending Queen Margarets where Diane and Lily met. We had a wonderful time together and continued this wonderful connection and friendship. We are sure Andrea will have a wonderful year at QMS and we hope to see her during the school-year.

Camp

We had a great time at Camp this year with lots of visits with Robin, the Manning cousins, Uncle John, the Cunningham and Attwell clans.

A Weekend at the Ranch

Strawberries!

Today the Verbrugge and Attwell clans headed out for some strawberry picking on Westham Island in Ladner, BC. We ate a lot of strawberries!

Sailing to Pokai Bay

My friend and squash buddy from Vancouver Tim Holley, now suffering in his new post on Oahu, invited Cynthia and me to join him for a day of sailing to one of his favourite anchorages at Pokai Bay on his Catalina 39. We had a great run down to the anchorage in 20 knots and had an exciting run back with winds up to 34.5 knots of wind in the dark! Tim treated us to a spectacular day and is a superb captain.
