Fernie

Cynthia and I visited Chris Hunter in Fernie. Chris and Cynthia had lots of fun razzing me about my ski boots! Fernie is a terrific mountain with lots of great runs - Cynthia and I did our usual job of skiing past the (inbounds) warning signs to get the fun stuff.

The Car Trip

Driving around BC in winter is a spectacular adventure - we saw eagles, hawks, moose, elk, big horn sheep and more along the way. An avalanche between Revelstoke and Golden kept us in Revelstoke with nothing to do, so we went bowling! I am happy to report that there is no shortage of Tim Horton's along the way.

Splinters and Tin 2008

On March 14th, 2008 Gavin Cooper and Rob Attwell hosted the inaugural annual Splinters and Tin Challenge wooden racquets squash tournament at the Bentall Center Athletic Club. Our first champion is none other than Andrew Lynn - it seems he can hit a ball with any type of racquet!

Happy Birthday Silke!

Silke's first birthday in Canada!

Family Flu Clinic!

Dr. Dave held a mini-flu clinic at the request of Erin and Rebekah who wanted to get their shots. The Good Doctor had enough flu shots to cater to the all the brave and not so brave; fortunately Erin and Rebekah lent Uncle Rob some bears to get through the poke in the arm.

Cynthia Ski's the Steeps!

This is video of Cynthia tackling 'Outlaw' at Kicking Horse Resort.

Outlaw

We found a favourite run at Kicking Horse called 'Outlaw', a steep continuous descent into Feuz Bowl at Kicking Horse.

Here is the first half of the decent:

And the second half filmed from the bottom, what a great run:

Kicking Horse

Kicking Horse Resort is located in Golden, BC and has amazing long, steep runs and dry, powdery snow that's a lot of fun to ski. We will definitely be back!

First Turns at Revelstoke

Revelstoke

The Revelstoke area is spectacular. The Columbia river runs through the valley. Revelstoke Mountain Resort on Mt. Mackenzie has 4400ft of vertical and you can do top to bottom on an expert run.

Skiing Revelstoke

Cynthia and I headed out on a week-long ski adventure to the Kootenays.
